Here’s How You Can Help

Learn, Learn, Learn

Knowledge gives us the power to make change. Our new online Learning Hub offers many resources about nuclear weapons and associated issues. Become a voice for peace and disarmament and share your knowledge with your family, friends, and community.

  • Read articles, reports, and books about the nuclear threat and the devastating consequences of nuclear weapons.
  • Watch interviews, lectures, and documentaries featuring testimonies from hibakusha and communities affected by nuclear weapons use and production, as well as scientific and medical experts.
  • Attend virtual and in-person events.

Contact Government Officials

Take your knowledge to the people in charge. It is up to us as constituents to push our elected officials at all levels, local to federal, towards peace. And there are many ways to advocate:

  • Visit the offices of your local leaders to let them know that this issue is important to you.
  • Call your state representatives and ask them to sign the ICAN Parliamentary Pledge in support of the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons.
  • Write to your elected leaders in Congress and the White House to encourage the pursuit of legislation that addresses nuclear justice and abolition. (For example, see here.)

Support Local Initiatives and Organizations

Change starts locally. There are many organizations alongside NAPF doing important work to pursue disarmament. Join the movement!

  • Get involved with local peace and disarmament organizations by attending events, volunteering, donating, and more. Don’t have one? Start one!
  • Advance local legislative efforts to declare your city a nuclear weapons free zone, endorse the ICAN City Appeal, and encourage divestment.
  • Talk to entities in your community (e.g. banks, businesses, schools) about what they can do to promote peace and nuclear disarmament.

Together, we can build a world free of nuclear weapons. Join us!
